A part of Athora Group since January 2019, Generali Belgium has been active in Belgium since 1901 and is currently the 11th largest insurer in the country.
Based in Brussels, it provides a broad set of insurance solutions to retail and corporate clients through a network of over 1,000 independent brokers. It serves the Belgian market with a comprehensive product set including single and recurring premium savings; pension and unit-linked life products; and car, home and renters insurance. Generali Belgium has approximately 530,000 customers served by a team of some 400 employees. In 2017, total premium income amounted to approximately €640 million and Generali Belgium's asset portfolio amounted to approximately €6.5 billion.
The entity will be renamed to Athora Belgium by the end of quarter two 2019.
